These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the provision of construction and interior works services by GRIGAL SERVICES LTD (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”) to the client (“you”, “the Client”).

By accepting a quotation, making a payment, or allowing works to commence, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Scope of Services

We provide construction and interior works services including, but not limited to:

Interior renovation works

Flooring installation

Underfloor heating installation

Wall and floor tiling

Associated preparation and finishing works

The exact scope of work will be defined in the written quotation or agreement provided before works commence.

2. Quotations & Pricing

2.1 All quotations are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.
2.2 Prices are based on the information provided by the Client and site conditions visible at the time of inspection.
2.3 Quotations exclude unforeseen works, hidden defects, or variations unless explicitly stated.
2.4 Materials are excluded unless clearly specified as included in writing.

Any additional work requested or required will be quoted separately and must be approved before commencement.

3. Payments

3.1 Payment terms will be specified in the quotation or invoice.
3.2 Typical payment structure may include:

Advance payment or deposit

Stage payments for larger projects

Final balance upon completion

3.3 All invoices must be paid within the stated payment period.
3.4 Late payments may result in suspension of works until payment is received.

4. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

Provide clear access to the site during agreed working hours

Ensure utilities (water, electricity, heating if required) are available

Remove or protect personal belongings before work begins

Obtain any required permissions, approvals, or consents (unless agreed otherwise)

Delays caused by lack of access or unmet responsibilities may result in additional costs.

5. Variations & Changes

5.1 Any changes to the agreed scope must be confirmed in writing.
5.2 Variations may affect price and completion time.
5.3 Verbal instructions do not constitute approval unless confirmed in writing.

6. Completion Timeframes

6.1 Estimated timelines are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed.
6.2 Delays may occur due to:

Weather conditions

Supply chain issues

Client-requested changes

Hidden structural or subfloor issues

We will inform the Client promptly of any significant delays.

7. Materials

7.1 Materials supplied by the Client are not covered by our warranty.
7.2 We are not responsible for defects, delays, or failures caused by client-supplied materials.
7.3 Materials supplied by us remain our property until paid in full.

8. Workmanship Warranty

8.1 We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty from the date of completion, unless otherwise stated.
8.2 The warranty covers defects arising from faulty workmanship only.
8.3 The warranty does not cover:

Normal wear and tear

Damage caused by misuse or neglect

Structural movement

Issues caused by other trades or third parties

9. Underfloor Heating Disclaimer

9.1 Underfloor heating installations must be used in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
9.2 We are not responsible for performance issues caused by:

Incorrect system operation

Incompatible floor coverings chosen by the Client

Third-party boiler or heat pump faults

Manufacturer warranties apply where relevant.

10. Health & Safety

10.1 We comply with UK health and safety regulations.
10.2 Clients must ensure children, pets, and unauthorised persons are kept away from the work area.
10.3 We reserve the right to stop works if conditions are unsafe.

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided.
11.2 We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profit or rental income.
11.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Termination

12.1 Either party may terminate the agreement with written notice if the other party materially breaches these Terms.
12.2 If terminated by the Client, payment is due for all completed work and materials ordered.

13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, supply shortages, or government restrictions.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
